With an attitude that is fierce, funny, and proud to be female, BUST
magazine provides an uncensored view of the female experience. BUST
tells the truth about women's lives and presents a female perspective on
pop culture.
BUST was founded in 1993 by Debbie Stoller, Marcelle Karp and Laurie
Henzel. It began as a no-holds-barred chronicle of female life, collecting
devotees with its first photocopied issue. With contributors who are too
smart to be anything but feminist, BUST was the original grrl 'zine, written
for today's hip urban girl and her admirers.
BUST has since garnered awards and critical acclaim for the magazine
and its sister site, BUST.com, launched in 1997. BUST was acquired by
Studio Holdings in 2000 in an effort to build the
brand and increase its circulation and reach across media. Always edgy, funny, honest, sexy, smart, and passionate, BUST is
the only outlet for women with something to get off their chests.
